U.S. Marshals Thursday added $1,500 to the reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect who fatally shot an Upper Darby (PA) man after an altercation outside the Piazza at Schmidt’s in Northern Liberties early Monday, June 11, 2012.

Steven Miller, 22, is wanted in connection with the murder of 24-year-old Maurice Kimble.

Kimble was shot outside the PYT restaurant at the Piazza at Schmidt’s in Northern Liberties just a few minutes after midnight Monday.

Kimble, 24, was from Upper Darby, Pa. Authorities say he was shot twice in the chest and once in the groin. He was pronounced dead a few hours later at Hahnemann Hospital.

Police said an argument started inside the restaurant and then moved outside on Hancock Street, which is where the shooting occurred.

One resident of Northern Liberties said she heard the gunshots while she was out walking her dog. “I just saw somebody on the ground with a bloody tee-shirt and there was a crowd around him attempting to resuscitate him,” said Kelly Mulhern.

Police are searching for Steven Miller. He was wearing a pink and gray T-shirt and was with another man and two women when he fled, according to investigators.

Investigators hope surveillance cameras in the area may have recorded the incident.

A car was also towed away from the scene as part of the investigation.

Originally it was reported that the gun used in the shooting was recovered near the scene but police say they haven’t recovered the weapon

Miller is described as black, 6 feet tall, about 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes and a tattoo of “RIP Jason” on his left forearm.

His last known address was on Friendship Street near Longshore in Northeast Philadelphia’s Castor section. The Philadelphia Police Department already offers up to $20,000 for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of all homicide suspects in the city.
