A $10,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the murder of a 20-year-old Midland man who was killed nine years ago.

Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office investigators believe Bryan Michael Mace interrupted a burglary in progress at his Elk Run Road home on April 9, 2003.

FCSO Sheriff Charlie Ray Fox, Jr. said detectives are “still pursuing all leads” in this case.

According to FCSO spokesman Lt. James Hartman, Mace was shot several times before the house was intentionally set on fire. Numerous firearms and other items were also stolen from the house.

According to the Facebook page “Justice for Bryan Michael Mace,” the victim “left behind a mother, a stepfather, a stepsister and huge loving family.”

“He is thought of everyday by everyone who was blessed enough to come in contact with him,” wrote a family member who created the page. “Please help us solve his case and bring peace to his loving family.”
