Gregory Martin made a routine traffic stop on Highway 77 in Yadkin County around 2 a.m. on October 5, 1996. It was Martin’s last work in the line of duty. Investigators said the suspect shot Martin several times, and then took off leaving Martin to die on the side of the road.

10-4-12 Update: JONESVILLE, N.C. —Authorities have made an arrest in the case of Jonesville police Sgt. Gregory Martin, who was shot and killed in 1996.

Scott Vincent Sica, 36, was arrested at his home around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in Cape Coral, Fla., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

JONESVILLE/GASTONIA, NC—The FBI is now offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who shot and killed Jonesville Police Department Sgt.
