Update 5-17-13: HADDONFIELD, N.J. — An internet celebrity was arrested in Philadelphia on Thursday, two days after he was reportedly spotted in New Jersey. Caleb “Kai” McGillvary, who gained fame online as the Hatchet-Wielding Hitchhiker, was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m. at a Greyhound bus station in Center City, authorities said.

CLARK, N.J. — Authorities in Union County have issued an arrest warrant for internet celebrity “Kai the hatchet wielding hitchhiker” in the murder of Attorney Joseph Galfy, Jr. in Clark, New Jersey

10-23-12 Update: Gloucester County officials arrested two teenage brothers in connection with the death of 12-year-old Autumn Pasquale.

County prosecutor Sean Dalton said at a press conference Tuesday that Autumn, who was was last seen Saturday on her bicycle, was lured into the home of the 15- and 17-year-old brothers to obtain parts for her BMX bike. The crime was allegedly committed in that house.

Dalton said the boys’ mother contacted police about posts she saw on her son’s Facebook page.

Update 10-22-12: CLAYTON, N.J. –  The body of a female was found in a recycling containing in Clayton and preliminarily identified as that of a 12-year-old southern New Jersey girl missing since the weekend, officials said early Tuesday.

Bernie Weisenfeld, spokesman for the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, said in a statement that the body was found 10 p.m. Monday by investigators with the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. Officials did not say exactly where the body was found. Read the rest of this entry »

7-27-11 Update: The drowning death of 18-year-old Sarah Townsend of Florence has been ruled a suicide, and toxicology tests revealed she had cocaine in her system when she died, authorities said.

Authorities continued to search Tuesday evening for an 18-year-old Burlington County (NJ) woman who had disappeared Monday, May 9, 2011 after leaving for school. Sarah Townsend, a student at Allentown High School in Monmouth County, left her home in Florence Township at 7 a.m. Monday but never arrived at school, prompting a massive search-and-rescue effort that stretched into Tuesday afternoon. LOCKEY M. MITTEN

On Saturday, July 28, 2007 at approximately 6:42 p.m. the body of Lockey M. Mitten was discovered at 214 Indiana Avenue (Colonial Estates), Williamstown, New Jersey. Her death was ruled a homicide.
The 65-year-old woman was stabbed in the throat and left in her trailer. Her body was found on a living room sofa
