$6,000 MURDER REWARD

In September of 2004, Brittany Phillips, 18, was raped and strangled in her South Tulsa apartment near 61st & Mingo. Now police and Brittany’s mother are hoping for new leads in the case.
“I can never believe that was murdered. And now I can’t believe that we’re heading toward the 8th year and it’s still unsolved”, says Brittany’ Mother, Dr. Maggie Zingman.
The last few weeks have been filled with ups and downs for Zingman. After years of dead-ends, it looked as though police may have gotten the tip they had been waiting for, only to learn that the suspect’s DNA does not match the DNA found at the crime scene.
Zingman said, “it was the first time I actually found myself being a little bit hopeful that we might actually solve the murder. We have the DNA and all though it doesn’t totally rule out the suspect as a suspect, but it does give us an idea if this person could be our primary suspect.”
But this set back hasn’t deterred Zingman. She’s put 43,000 miles on her small SUV – driving across the country – trying to drum up new leads. She calls them each trip “Caravan to Catch a Killer.”
She has no intention of stopping until the killer is brought to justice. “I feel like I can’t stop.”
Tulsa Homicide Detective Jeff Felton is just as determined to find Brittany’s killer.
“This case was horrific. It weighs heavy on my heart. I bring it home with me all the time. It think about the case and what I can do,” Felton says.
He says even the smallest tip could be the key to solving Brittany’s murder. “We would appreciate calls from anybody that knew Brittany. Calls from anybody who may have been around the complex that thought someone was suspicious… anybody we could check out. because at this point it be anybody.”
Anyone with information that could help, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS. Callers can remain anonymous. If you tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
