BROKEN ARROW, OK – Authorities plan to redouble their search for a Broken Arrow repairman who went missing Aug. 10, police said and an anonymous person has offered a reward to help find Justin Cobb.

Authorities found his red work van, along with a laptop computer and his wallet, in a wooded area east of Haskell near Okmulgee County Road 310 on Aug 14, 2012.

Broken Arrow police say if Justin Cobb’s disappearance turns out to be criminal, an anonymous person will post a $15,000 reward for information that leads to locating Cobb.

Cobb, 34, an air conditioning technician for Mullin Services, never returned home after making service calls that day in Tulsa, police said.

An ongoing search of the area has yielded nothing, and there was no indication of a struggle near the van, police said.

“It’s just a very rural area,” Maj. Mark Irwin said. “What we have done this week is we’ve had four detectives on four-wheelers out where the van was recovered.

“Now we’re doing aerial surveys.”

Although Cobb was known to have had heat-related health problems, Irwin said police “can’t say one way or another” whether that had anything to do with the disappearance. Police are also not ready to call it suspicious.

He was last seen at a convenience store about 4:30 p.m. near 51st Street and Peoria Avenue.

“It’s really hard to go missing (intentionally) when you don’t have any money,” he said. “At some point in time, someone will usually call and say, ‘Hey, I had a call from this person.’”

Instead, Cobb’s family has had to live with having few answers, he said.

“They’re worried, and I can’t even imagine what they’re going through,” he said. “We try to give them updates, but when there’s not anything to update, it’s tough.”

Authorities now plan to regroup and again interview people who recently saw Cobb, Irwin said.

He is described as white with hazel eyes and a shaved head. Court records say he is 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds.
