PINE BLUFF, Ark.  — Over 18 years ago, a Pine Bluff honor student was at her part time job one minute and then gone the next. Cleashindra Hall, 18, left no trace, no trail, but Pine Bluff police firmly believe that someone she knew murdered her.

Despite never finding her body, the investigation is still open. There is a $10,000 for information leading to her recovery or an arrest.

Lt. Rowland Dorman says, “To be perfectly honest, I felt like we would have found her within weeks, if not sooner.”

Dorman has worked the case since the beginning. A search at the home showed no sign of an attack. There is a person of interest, but it’s not Dr. Amos. Still Lt. Dorman stresses no one has been ruled out. He believes Clea left work with someone she knew. They have a theory but are seeking forensic evidence to support it.

Lt. Dorman says, “There is only a few reasons why someone would not want someone living; greed, jealously, love to hold someone back. Envy.”

Clea’s family says she didn’t have a boyfriend, although a male friend was questioned. Lt. Dorman has followed hundreds of leads and issued search warrants.

“We have done everything that we have known to do. A lot of times we didn’t have a reason to search a certain area and we would just do it anyway,” explains Dorman.

Laurell says, “They were looking for remains or for a body, but we still believe that she is out there somewhere. Even if she was out there and was on her own and she didn’t want to come home, we just want to know she’s ok.”

Much has changed in 15 years. Both of Clea’s grandmother’s have died. She has two nieces and a nephew she’s never met. Still, they wait for her return.

“We are hoping that we don’t have to put up anymore pink bows,” says Laurell.

The ribbons outside the family home are a symbol of years gone by and faded dreams of what would have been.

“We are stuck in time because she disappeared like in high school. I have always said if I give up the search on finding her, who is going to look? We want more than closure. We want the truth about what happened to Clea,” cries Laurell.

Cleashindra Denise Hall was last seen at 5309 Faucett Road in Pine Bluff. She is 5’8′ tall and weighs 120 pounds.

It was the most exciting time of her life. She was 18-years-old and had just been to senior prom. Graduation was in two weeks and college was just around the corner

“I am just wondering what would have been,” says her mom Laurell Hall.

You see, Cleashindra Hall had a big dream. She wanted to be a pediatrician. Clea spoke with her mother often about those plans.

“Somebody’s children were always hanging on her at church or something,” explains Laurell. “She would babysit occasionally, so you know she liked children.”

That dream though has faded.

“May 9, 1994 is the day Clea disappeared,” says Laurell. “I am thinking she stayed out all night she is in trouble. So I stayed up all night thinking like any mom you’re in trouble when you get home.”

But 18 years later, there is still no trace. There have been billboards, newspaper ads, countless searches and prayer vigils.

“You know when I look at her picture, I see her as the little girl up there. I don’t see her as being an adult, 36 years-old. I don’t see that.”

Clea’s mom says her daughter was last seen at the home and office of Dr. Larry Amos. Clea worked as a part time clerk there and would always call her mom around 8:30 p.m. to ask for a ride home, but the night she disappeared, that call never came. Laurell called Dr. Amos around midnight.

“I said is she still there? And he said no, she left,” explains Laurell. “And I was like well what time did she leave and when did she leave?”

There was also the thought that maybe Clea tried to walk home and was abducted. After all, she only lived half a mile from work.
