It’s been almost 18 months since a 19-year-old Carter County (KY) teenager went missing. Dillon “Nemo” Bryant’s body was found about a month later in an Elliott County pond. He had been shot in the head.

Dillon Bryant’s family believes people in the community may have the clues police need to solve the case. In addition to increasing the reward for information to $3750, Bryant’s family is also making it easier for the public to provide tips, and it involves the Post Office.

At eleven-years-old, Dillon Bryant earned the nickname that would stick with him for the rest of his life. A friend at the playground called him “Nemo.” Bryant’s aunt, Pam Carroll, who raised him says he loved it.

“His younger brother adopted the name Wemo, like little Nemo, so we had a Nemo and a Wemo,” she says.

At 19-years-old, Dillon Bryant was pursuing his dreams, on his way to earning a degree in architecture. A recipient of the Robinson Scholarship, Dillon studied at the University of Kentucky for one semester. He would never get a chance to finish his degree.

“It’s a tremendous loss that a child with so much potential was taken by a single judge, jury, and executioner,” says Carroll.

On February 28th, 2011, family and friends were frantic. No one knew where Dillon was. He was last seen in the Olive Hill area of Carter County. Then on April 3rd, a farmer made a horrifying discovery. He found a body in a pond near Highway 1620 in Elliott County. Authorities confirmed it was Dillon Bryant.

“Coming up on the year anniversary with no arrests and no answers is very difficult,” says Carroll.

But the family believes several people know something, which is why they are using Facebook to let the community know a P.O. Box has been set up so tips can be totally anonymous, and tipsters don’t need to worry about their voices being identified.

“Dillon needs justice, and Dillon deserves justice,” says Carroll.
