Wanted posters now greet shoppers. Deputies say the two sketches on the posters are suspects in the murder of the business’ owner David Sanchez.
“For them to talk and find out who they are not just for us, but the tranquility of the town,” said Dina Cantu, the victim’s sister.
Sanchez was well-known for his shop, and the check-cashing business he ran there too. He recently started visiting the chicken processing plants to cash checks for his clients who couldn’t drive.
“He was always helping people,” said Cantu.
On April 12, 2012 he was gunned down outside the Victory Foods plant. Investigators think the gunmen targeted him for money. They say the suspects even wore hairnets to blend in with the plant workers.
“It makes us more mad that it was a Hispanic. Hispanics – he always helped,” said Betty Galvin, his best friend.
Deputies say a witness recently came forward to help them create the sketches. Sanchez’ family hopes the sketches and their $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest will lead to the killers.
