ASPER CO., SC Update Nov. 1, 2012  Authorities are now upping the reward to help solve a Jasper County murder case.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and South Carolina CrimeStoppers announced Thursday they are offering a $50,000 reward for information in the death of John David Huberty, who was found murdered in his home in the Levy area back in July of 2011. They’ve also put up a billboard on U.S. Highway 17 to get the message out.

They say they’re able to increase the reward thanks to an anonymous donor.

The Jasper County (SC) Sheriff’s Office is offering a reward of $25,000 to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of John David Huberty.

The FBI has joined the search for a South Carolina cheerleader who vanished without a trace from her bedroom.

On September 24, 1992, Dail Boxley Dinwiddie disappeared from Columbia, South Carolina.

It happens everyday. You hear it on the news, read it in the papers, see alerts on the highway signs. And with the advent of the 24-hour news cycle, Amber Alerts and a more responsive police force, these commonplace disappearances sometimes end with good news. I wish that could happen for Dail. 17 Year Old Marley Lion

7-31-12 Update: Four people have been arrested on charges in connection with the slaying of 17-year-old Marley Lion, including the suspected shooter who sold the murder weapon to undercover officers a month after the homicide, Charleston police said today.

Three are charged with murder because the police say their planned robbery led to Lion’s death in mid-June.

CHARLESTON, SC – Officials with the Charleston Police Department say they are seeking the public’s help to identify an individual seen on surveillance video shortly before the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Marley Lion.

Police say Lion was shot in the head and died when he got to the operating room at MUSC. He lived long enough to tell them he pulled over to sleep and give a description of the shooter. He was shot five times in an attempted robbery Read the rest of this entry »
