As searches continue for missing New York teen Colin Gillis, a $10,000 reward remains active for information leading to his whereabouts or safe return.

The 18-year-old was last seen around 2am on Saturday, March 11th, 2012 walking in the area of Route 3 in Tupper Lake, New York and Piercefield, NY.  At the time of his disappearance, Colin was wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt with black stripes, a red-and-black jacket, and red sneakers.

Over the weekend, pre-planned searches were held in a nearby Boy Scout Camp, two trails, and a corridor near the area where Colin was last seen, and updates are given daily on the family’s FaceBook page, “Colin Gillis Search Updates“. Suffolk County Police have upped the ante in their search for a killer or killers who apparently dumped their victims along a remote stretch of beach in Long Island, New York.
The reward for information leading to an arrest — once topping out at $5,000 — was raised five-fold, according to a police statement.
The $25,000 reward would be the largest offered in Suffolk County history, in an apparent bid to fill out a possible serial killer case that some fear has gone cold. Read the rest of this entry »

KILLAWOG, N.Y. — The Broome County Sheriff is asking for your help locating a missing woman. They’re calling it a suspicious disappearance.

Sheriff David Harder said Bethanie Dougherty, 40, was last seen the night of April 1, 2008 and then heard screaming the morning of April 2nd.

Dougherty, a Killawog resident, is 5’10”, has red hair, green eyes, and weighs 160 pounds. She was wearing purple pajama pants before she disappeared. Read the rest of this entry »
