ST. PAUL, Minn. — Police have announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the body of a St. Paul woman missing for more than two months and presumed dead.

The nonprofit St. Paul Police Foundation is putting up the reward for information that helps find Kira Trevino’s body.

MINNEAPOLIS — It has been over six months since the shooting that killed a 3-year-old boy in north Minneapolis, but police say they are no closer to finding the person who fired the fatal shot.

Terrell Mayes Jr. died after a bullet broke through a wall in his home and hit him the head last December. At the time he was shot, Mayes and his brother were running upstairs to hide. Investigators say they believe the bullet came from a nearby alley. The bullet penetrated the wall of the home before striking Terrell. He died the next day. Read the rest of this entry »

5-14-12 Update: BROOKLYN PARK, Minn.  Charges have been filed against a St. Louis, Mo., man arrested in connection with a triple murder last month at a Brooklyn Park day care, and the criminal complaint says the violence is not the first crime he committed against the family.

On Monday, Brooklyn Park police identified the suspect as 34-year-old Eddie Matthew Mosley, who has been charged with three counts of second-degree murder.

DeLois Brown, 59, and her parents — 81-year-old Clover Bolden and 82-year-old James Bolden — were found fatally shot inside their home on College Park Drive the morning of April 9.

Police are offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who can help find the person or people responsible for the deaths of three adults in Brooklyn Park, MN Monday, April 9, 2012.

An adult woman and her two parents were found dead inside a home-based daycare at 8117 College Park Drive around 6:30 a.m. Monday. Though police have yet to release their names, family members identified the dead as daycare operator and owner of the house, 59-year-old DeLois Brown, and her parents James and Clover Bolden. KIMBALL - May 13th, 1976– Post Office Bombing

It was a quiet spring morning when an explosion disrupted the small town of Kimball, Minnesota on May 13th, 1976. The explosion came from the Kimball Post Office where assistant postmaster Ivend Holen was sorting the morning’s mail. Though the ambulance was fast to the scene, the 60-year-old father of 10 died on the way to the hospital.

Ray Covert from Eden Valley had dropped off 3 large sacks of mail in a bulk shipment from Minneapolis at the Kimball Post Office at 1 am. “I didn’t look inside (the three sacks) but they were goddamned heavy.” (St. Cloud Daily Times, 13 May 1976). Ivend Holen had begun sorting the mail for that day’s delivery when one of the packages exploded at 6:42 am. Glass was blown as far as 35 feet into the street. Read the rest of this entry »

8-25-11 Update: Donald E. Oswald, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis FBI office, today announces the arrest of Romero James Spellmon, 26, of Bloomington, Minnesota.

Spellmon was arrested pursuant to a state murder warrant which was issued in April, 2011 out of Hennepin County District Court. Spellmon was wanted by law enforcement in connection with the shooting death of Richmond Eric Dunbar on April 10, 2005.

Romero James Spellmon, Jr. is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of a war veteran on April 10, 2005, in Minnesota. It is alleged that Spellmon and an accomplice, who are reported gang members, were turned away from a cookout that was held at a residence in Minneapolis and attended by rival gang members. Then, Spellmon and his accomplice allegedly obtained pistols and fired at the residence from across the street, killing the victim, who was not a gang member. The victim was on leave from the military at the time of the shooting. Spellmon’s accomplice has been arrested, however Spellmon is at large. Read the rest of this entry »

6-15-12 Update: County authorities arrested 41-year-old Joseph John Couture of Cloquet Friday afternoon just after 3:30 in connection with the September 3rd, 2000 death of Trina Langenbrunner.

CLOQUET, MN — The family of a slain Cloquet woman wants her elusive killer to know they will never forget what he did over ten years ago — and will never stop pursuing him.

Trina Langenbrunner’s stabbed and tortured body was discovered off a rural road
in southern St. Louis County last Sept. 3, 2000. She was 33. Police still have few
