 $100,000 Missing Child Reward
If you have kids, the story just draws you in. Of course, it happened so long ago. Still, I can’t imagine losing a child that way, and for these many years being suspected of killing him.
The story is the disappearance of 7-month-old Christopher Enoch Abeyta from his crib in his parents’ Colorado Springs home 25 years ago, among the most sensational, still-unsolved crimes in city history.
Upon investigation of the property, officers found that the basement window was open and the garage door opener was missing.
Police fixated on Bernice and Gil Abeyta, who at the time had briefly separated. She had failed a pair of polygraph examinations, which she and the family attributed to stress and her withdrawal from medication. Read the rest of this entry »

FORT CARSON, Colo. — The U.S. Army is offering a $15,000 reward in an effort to solve the suspicious death of a former soldier whose body was found floating in a wastewater treatment plant at Fort Carson in 2006.

The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, known as CID, said the reward is offered to anyone with information that leads to the apprehension and conviction of whomever may have been responsible for the death of Joseph Eric Barker, 21, of Tulsa, Okla. Read the rest of this entry »

DENVER – Police in Denver now say a girl who was kidnapped for a brief time on Thursday, June 2, 2011 was sexually assaulted.
The search for the suspect in the case continues, and the FBI has added new reward money in their effort to get a tip that leads to an arrest. The reward is now at $12,000.
The girl, an 8-year-old girl, was abducted from the area of 475 S. Raleigh at about 1:30 p.m. and located about 90 minutes later.
The girl walked into a Diamond Shamrock convenience store at 1945 Federal Blvd. at about 3 p.m. and told the employee she had been kidnapped. Read the rest of this entry »

Denver police announced today they have obtained an arrest warrant for a man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl in Denver on Thursday, June 2, 2011.
Police said Bret Lee Luckett Thompson, 27, is accused of second-degree kidnapping and sexual assult on a child.

AURORA | Family and friends of a woman killed at the northwest Aurora apartment complex she owned and managed gathered at police headquarters to plead for the public’s help in catching her killer.
Lyndsay Huong Ngoc Pham, 45, of Centennial, was killed March 3, 2010 at the Descanso Plaza Apartments, 11102 E. 16th Ave.

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — The family of a man killed outside a Lakewood restaurant and bar is offering a $15,000 reward to anyone who has information that leads to the capture of the killer.

ASPEN — The family of George Aldrich, the Snowmass Village resident who disappeared on the night of Nov. 27, 2010 has raised the reward for information leading to his discovery from $5,000 to $25,000.
In a statement released Sunday evening, the family said the possibility of some type of criminal act against Aldrich seemed likely. Family members cited the exhaustive 12-day search by area law enforcement and community volunteers along the Highway 82 corridor from Aspen to Carbondale that failed to turn up any evidence in the missing-person case. SAN ANTONIO — Nonnie Dotson disappeared Nov. 19, 2006.
Dotson, who was visiting her older brother in Jefferson County Colo., went out to supposedly to meet some friends.
