1-18-12 Update: BALDWIN HILLS, LOS ANGELES  — An alleged gang member has been charged with capital murder in the death of an Inglewood nightclub owner.

Prosecutors say 31-year-old Dennis Roy Brown, also known as “June Bug,” shot and robbed Ester Alonzo as he pulled into his Baldwin Hills home in May 2011, after he returned home from his night club.

Brown is purportedly a member of the Rollin 20′s Blood gang.

LOS ANGELES, Calif.—The Los Angeles City Council today approved a $50,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the murder of nightclub owner Alonzo “Dicky” Ester in front of his Baldwin Hills home.

Ester, 67, was fatally shot May 13, 2011 in his white Rolls-Royce Phantom as he arrived home in the 4300 block of Hillcrest Drive about 2:30 a.m. that Friday. Read the rest of this entry »
