The City of Oxnard is offering a $10 thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a weekend killer.
The victim has been identified as Ira McLaughlin IV.
The 25 year old died form a gunshot wound to the chest early Sunday morning, August 26, 2012.
Police say the fifth homicide of the year happened in the middle of J Street near Hemlock Street.
Neighbors say they are scared to talk about the crime that woke many of them up Sunday morning.
He attended Santa Clara High School, graduated, and went on to join the military, where he served six years proudly! He continued on his path attending Oxnard beauty academy with his best friend Rashad Davis. He was always known to be a loving son, brother, nephew, and friend. He had the biggest heart and tried to carry everyone on his back. He will be truly and deeply missed!
