Phyllis Bohle

The father of a woman killed 37 years ago in her Severn, Maryland home has put up a $10,000 reward, hoping to generate new leads to help police find her killer.

Phyllis Bohle was bludgeoned with a fireplace poker and stabbed on March 25, 1974, when she was 23. Traditional investigative methods and DNA tests have not led detectives to a suspect.

Omer “Bud” Gray, 83, said not a day goes by that he doesn’t dwell on the crime, and miss his eldest child — who would be 61 now.

“It’s been bothering me quite a bit, and the older I get, the worse it gets. I don’t even sleep at nighttime without thinking about it,” Gray said. “It just gets to me.” Read the rest of this entry »

Tobechi Enyinna Onwuhara

2-25-13 Update: He owned a hip hop record label and he lived the high life of luxury hotels, gambling, strippers and bling. But behind the glitz and the glamour Tobechi Enyinna Onwuhara was one of the FBI’s most wanted men, allegedly a fraudster who scammed at least $44 million through cyber crimes.

But the sophisticated con artist, who fled Florida in August 2008 amid an intense FBI investigation, has been caught in Sydney and sent back to the US to face a string of fraud charges.

Nigerian-born Tobechi Onwuhara, 33, was “provisionally arrested in response to a request from the United States Government” in December last year, according to a spokeswoman for the Australian Attorney-General’s department.

Tobechi Enyinna Onwuhara, a convicted felon, is wanted for his alleged involvement in an elaborate scheme that defrauded the financial industry out of tens of millions of dollars. Onwuhara is a key member of a group of Nigerians who allegedly have been conducting fraudulent banking activities from Florida and Texas, since 2005. It is alleged that the group has been using online Internet databases to steal victims’ identities. Once acquired, they allegedly use the victims’ information to gain access to the victims’ Home Equity Line of Credit accounts and wire transfer the money to accounts mainly located overseas, some in the United States. Harrison Amadin Ekpetin

Harrison Amadin Ekpetin is wanted for his alleged involvement in several incidents of Home Equity Line of Credit fraud originating in the continental United States, often in New Mexico, from 2009 to 2011. It is alleged that Ekpetin illegally gained access to bank accounts and successfully executed a series of fraudulent transactions resulting in funds being wired to banks overseas. The fraudulent activities allegedly resulted in more than $4 million in losses to financial institutions in New Mexico, Virginia, New York, and elsewhere in the United States. On April 27, 2011, a federal warrant was issued for Ekpetin’s arrest by the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, after he was charged federally with bank fraud, wire fraud and conspiracy. Ron Harnish Billboard

San Diego County Crime Stoppers will unveil a new billboard this morning publicizing a $55,000 reward for information on the unsolved murder of Ron Harnish. Harnish, a member of the Navy, was shot and killed on December 27, 2006; the billboard is on the corner of 30th and G Street which is a few blocks from the scene of his murder.

On the night of December 27, Harnish and two friends were driving in the same car in the 1100 block of 30th Street. They stopped, exited the car, and got into a confrontation with two Hispanic males who were standing on the sidewalk. One of the Hispanic males fired shots at the victims. Ronald Harnish was shot and killed at the scene. One of the men with Harnish was also shot. He survived his injury. Read the rest of this entry »

Lillian High, 82

2-15-12 Update: Police believe they have found the body of a missing 82-year-old woman whose rental car was found in a southeast Houston pond this morning, officials said.

Investigators discovered a black Dodge Avenger in a retention pond in the 10500 Freehill near Kurland about 10 a.m. during a training session, according to the Houston Police Department.

The license plate and description match the car used by Lillian High, 82, before she went missing.

HOUSTON — Crime Stoppers and its law enforcement partners are urging members of the community to make an anonymous call and provide information about a missing person’s case. Anyone with information that leads to the arrest or the filing of felony charges in the disappearance of Lillian High will be eligible for an increased reward of up to $20,000.
Lillian High, 82, has hasn’t been seen since Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011. Volunteers are back out searching for her.

Dalton Mesarchik

Almost nine heart-wrenching years have passed since the unthinkable occurred to a sweet-faced boy in small-town America. While waiting for a church van, 7-year-old Dalton Mesarchik vanished from outside their Streator, IL home. The next day, he was found lifeless in a nearby river, his head bashed in with a sledgehammer.
The brutal, shocking slaying remains unsolved.
Dalton was a smiling, active lad with long hair, bright eyes and a love for building plastic models of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He often played carefree with friends outside his home: a weathered, two-story house in the center of Streator, a blue-collar town of 14,000 residents.
In the spring of 2003, Dalton lived with mother Michele Mesarchik and father George Scott. Though they had divorced two years earlier, they shared the dwelling during a spate of unemployment. Agnieszka Ziemlewski

On the afternoon of September 24, 1998, 26-year-old Agnieszka Ziemlewski was shot to death at the Metropolitan District Commission Reservoir property within sight of Old Mountain Road in Farmington. It was a crime that rattled nerves in Farmington and it’s neighboring towns. The West Hartford resident had been found gravely wounded on a secluded walking path.
