10-3-12 Update: FORSYTH - — A year and a half after Russell and Rebecca Porter went missing, two people have been indicted on first-degree murder charges in connection with the Porters’ deaths.At a joint press conference this afternoon, prosecutors and sheriffs from Greene and Taney counties announced grand jury indictments against Tony Friend of Springfield and Dusty R. Hicks of Walnut Grove.

Jacksonville Beach police are asking for the public’s help in solving the May 18, 2009 murder of Roderick Batts of Jacksonville, who was shot outside the Waffle House restaurant at 334 Beach Blvd.
Crime Stoppers is also trying to help solve the case, which has gone cold despite detectives following up on a lot of leads. With the help of funds raised by Batts’ family and friends, Crime Stoppers has increased an award for tips leading to an arrest to $3,700. Read the rest of this entry »

MOUND BAYOU, MS – Authorities are still searching for the person who stabbed a former Mound Bayou alderman to death in his home on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, 2009.
Shedrick Stout was found in the bathroom of his residence on Annyce Street, around 8:50 p.m., Dec. 31. He had been stabbed multiple times in the upper body, with the fatal wound piercing his heart, officials said. Stout was 49.

COLUMBIA — The family of a Columbia, Missouri teenager who has not been seen since at least last Friday, April 22, 2011 has offered $10,000 for information that leads to his return or an arrest in connection with his disappearance. In addition to the $10,000 that his family is offering, Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,500.
